At a time when urban areas are home to the majority of the population and are responsible for 70% of greenhouse gas emissions through the use of fossil fuels, our ecological mission can only be fulfilled if we deal with urban and energy issues as a whole.

Historically, BETEN's agricultural activities have urged the company to inquire into the evolution of this sector in the face of climate change. For example, BETEN is involved in the European project “Life” on the adaptation and resilience of olive cultivation through the selection of resistant varieties and agroecological practices. The agro-environmental infrastructure, the respect for soil, and the saving of water, energy and pesticides are integrated, as well as the reuse of the residues of production. In addition, the development of light and mobile olive pressing units will meet the needs of isolated areas and small-scale production.
