As an eco-company, BETEN INGENIERIE focuses heavily on environmental protection that is its guiding principle when it comes to energy, agricultural or architectural projects.

Apart from observing the highest environmental standards in the projects we carry out, BETEN goes further by providing its expertise for the development of sustainable cities. At a time when urban areas are home to the majority of the population and are responsible for 70% of greenhouse gas emissions through the use of fossil fuels, our ecological mission can only be fulfilled if we deal with urban and energy issues as a whole.

Our services in this area are to respond to the problems of a sustainable city, viewed as a whole, and to more specific sectors such as urban sanitation and in particular the management of solid waste and water, whether it is drinking water or wastewater.

We thus offer our customers and partners the following services:

  • Urban situation analysis and infrastructure diagnostics
  • Development of master plans
  • Conducting feasibility studies and projects on waste treatment, water supply and wastewater treatment
  • Conducting studies and projects on decarbonization through the use of renewable energies and energy efficiency
  • Preparation of social and environmental impact studies
  • Project management assistance and monitoring the work

Historically, BETEN's agricultural activities have urged the company to inquire into the evolution of this sector in the face of climate change. For example, BETEN is involved in the European project “Life” on the adaptation and resilience of olive cultivation through the selection of resistant varieties and agroecological practices. The agro-environmental infrastructure, the respect for soil, and the saving of water, energy and pesticides are integrated, as well as the reuse of the residues of production. In addition, the development of light and mobile olive pressing units will meet the needs of isolated areas and small-scale production.

To respond to the challenges of transforming agricultural systems into agroecosystems, BETEN is interested in developing:

  • European environmental projects (Life, Interreg)
  • organic sectors, including their commercial and environmental valuation aspects
  • feasibility studies of natural and semi-natural environments restoration with a view to maintaining biodiversity
  • the integration of these themes into global territorial development projects
